Amalaki also known as Indian gooseberry is a potent nutritive tonic. It is very rich in vitamin C which makes it a powerful immune strengthener. It provides support and nutrition to the digestive tract, inner and outer skin, arteries, and liver. It is traditionally used to improve digestion and elimination, while nourishing and strengthening the body. It acts as a natural anti-inflammatory that soothes and protects the tissues of the digestive tract. It gently detoxifies the body by purifying the blood and supporting healthy, regular elimination. It is also a potent rejuvenate for the entire body. It is said to stimulate the production of red blood cells, enhance cellular regeneration, increase lean body mass and support proper function of the liver, spleen, heart and lungs. It has also been used to improve eyesight, strengthen the bones and teeth, and cause hair and nails to grow. It improves the digestive fire, maintains a healthy blood sugar level and is a rich natural source of antioxidants.

After my yoga instructor advised me about AyuMantra, I tried the Amlaki product and it’s certainly a great choice! Its natural antioxidant has built up my immunity power.

I use this as a regular Vitamin C supplement, and it’s been helpful with my spring allergies. No side effects either, which is a big bonus (I’m asthmatic, and most medicines I’ve taken have given me at least some trouble). I wasn’t too big on natural medication before this, but might be open to trying more of these out now.

Got Amlaki for my mother, to replace her usual tonic. It’s suited her, and she seems to be catching fewer colds. A colleague has been taking this for years now, and has been recommending it for quite some time. I take some once in a while, and don’t mind the taste either. But that might just be my personal preference…
